This year Kudymkar has got the status of the Cultural Centre of the Perm Region within the program “The Perm Region – Territory of Culture” as the first town of the Perm region for the second time.
This time the town of Kudym-Osh is reloading culture. More than 30 projects will take place here, which are going to boost sociocultural development of Kudymkar and the transformation of intellectual and creative potential of Kudymkar’s residents into a leading factor of cultural and economic development and competitivity of the territory.
Major directions of the program are education, infrastructure, rise of life quality through culture, and creative industries. Attention is primarily paid to experience exchange between international and local partners, and setting the development of own projects by representatives of the local cultural community on the territory of the town and the Permian Komi District as the final goal of that reloading.
Among the largest events, the following ones may be underlined:
- International Academy of Cultural Managers,
- Creative Camp ‘FU-Gort’,
- International Summer Language School of the Finno-Ugric Youth,
- art residences,
- the ‘Civic Education’ program.
The following spaces will also appear in the town:
- a cluster of Finno-Ugric culture,
- a ‘Cultural Block‘,
- a multi-functional complex ‘Ethnosquat‘.
Traditional festivals, such as ‘Akan‘, ‘Ural Felt Boot‘ and festival of rites of Finno-Ugric people ‘Wonderful Carnival‘, will be complemented by the festival of light installations ‘The Secret of Light‘, festival of contemporary arts ‘Izyur‘ and International Beauty Contest ‘The Northern Star‘.
The high point of the program must be the elaboration of the strategy of cultural development of the town based on the cultural mapping.
